I fell in love with Moraito Chico and was literally quite upset, when following him on youtube, I found he had passed away several years beforehand, and he would be the same age as me. I could listen to his por bulerias forever. It’s well worth watching as well as his joy is contageous.

Thanks for this muy sabroso smorgasbord of the greats. I love watching Carmen Amaya the most. She was a “firecracker” but balanced her rapid-fire footwork with smooth and sultry marque that is so entrancing. Que gitana!

You could include Mario Maya. I loved his innovation. Also Pilar López – she had so many of the great bailaores in her company when they were starting including among others Antonio Gades and El Guito.
