Exercises for Flamenco Dancers

Exercises for Flamenco Dancers

May 11, 2015 Posted by rina@rinaorellana.com Flamenco Craft & Practice, Flamenco Health & Fitness, Learning Flamenco 9 Comments

The most common flamenco injuries I see involve the feet and sometimes the knees. This usually happens because the dancer isn’t using proper shoes or technique.

I’ve written about different ways to prevent injuries for flamenco dancers through nutrition, proper technique and shoes, and with strengthening exercises.

Here is a video with various exercises you can do to strengthen your feet, legs (which protects your knees), and core. Just pick a few other exercises and perform them a few times a week and I promise you’ll feel a difference!

Let me know if you use these exercises and if they helped you or not. 🙂 Rina

Super helpful, thanks Rina! Especially for a dancer who has a bummed knee.
